Jasprit Bumrah celebrated his debut as captain of the Indian Test team with a record-breaking effort with the bat on the second day of the final Test at Edgbaston.

Coming in to bat at 371/8 after Rishabh Pant (146) and Ravindra Jadeja (104) struck tons, Bumrah smashed 31* in 16 balls to help India finish with 416 on the board, but what made his contribution that much special was his four fours and two sixes off Stuart Broad in an over that saw him concede 35 runs, the most expensive over of all-time in Test Cricket's history.

Bumrah scored 29 of those, the most ever by a batter in the red-ball format while the remaining six extras only added to the misery of Broad, who incidentally also owns the record for the most expensive over in T20Is having conceded six sixes to Yuvraj Singh in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

The similarity between the two events was not lost on the cricket fraternity as current and former cricketers reacted to the stunning world record created by Bumrah, who is primarily a fast bowler.
