Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant on Saturday (2nd July) reacted to Virender Sehwag’s tweet praising him for his scintillating century in the rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston.
Pant stole the limelight on Day 1 of the rescheduled Test between England and India. The 24-year-old played one of the finest knocks of his career and yet again bailed his team out of trouble when it seemed that they would falter.
Pant rescued India’s innings when they found themselves tumbling at 95/5. The southpaw counter-attacked the English bowlers and took them to the cleaners to pave his way through his century in just 89 balls, the fastest by an Indian wicketkeeper batter.

Many fans and pundits lavished rich praise on Pant and called him the best wicketkeeper batter currently in Tests. Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was among those who celebrated the southpaw’s ton.
Sehwag posted a picture from the scene of the film MS Dhoni- the untold story and captioned the picture: “Pant is in a league of his own. The most entertaining cricketer in the world, this is a special one,"
Rishabh Pant loved Sehwag’s creativity and called him one of the best. “@virendersehwag bhaiya .. love this. you are one of the greatest and one of the best,” he tweeted.
