ENG v IND 2022: WATCH- Virat Kohli tries to replicate Joe Root’s bat trick during practice game

India ended day one on 246/8 with KS Bharat on 70*.

Virat Kohli trying to do the Joe Root bat trick | TwitterWhen Virat Kohli walked out to bat in India’s ongoing warmup fixture against Leicestershire which began on June 23 at the Grace Road ground, he drew the loudest cheers and was the center of attention as well during his stay at the crease.

He made 33 runs in 69 balls and hit 4 lovely boundaries and one six in his stay.

During his knock, in order to keep himself occupied at the non-striker’s end, he tried to replicate England batter Joe Root’s bat trick which was seen in against New Zealand recently.

Root had made his bat seemingly stand on its own at the non-striker's for a few seconds during the fourth innings of England's first Test against New Zealand.

Check it out here:

Kohli seemed to be trying to do the same while standing at the non-striker's end on Thursday. But, unlike what was the case with Root, the bat promptly leaned towards him as soon as he took his hand off.
