India officially kick-started their preparations on Thursday (June 23) for the final Test against England with a four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first as four Indian players Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Prasidh Krishna and Cheteshwar Pujara turned up for Leicestershire wearing the India kit.
India lost five wickets in the morning session to be reduced to 90/5 at Lunch. Rohit scored 25, while Shubman Gill made 21 before Hanuma Vihari (3), Shreyas Iyer (0) and Ravindra Jadeja (13) succumbed in helpful conditions for the bowlers.

After the break, Virat Kohli (33) steadied the innings with wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat as the duo added 57 runs for the 6th wicket before the former India captain was adjudged out lbw by the onfield umpire off Roman Walker.
There was quite a bit of doubt over the decision as the impact seemed to be outside off-stump but Kohli had no choice but to walk back to the pavilion after he was given out.

Interestingly, prior to his misfortune, Kohli also had some fortune as he survived on 23 when he chased a wide delivery from Abidine Sakande but survived as the umpires felt the ball had bounced before going into the slip fielder's hands.

At the time of writing this, India were 214/8 with KS Bharat unbeaten on 56.
