ENG v IND 2021: Ravindra Jadeja biggest threat on this wicket in second innings, reckons Moeen Ali

England need 291 runs on day 5 with 10 wickets in hand to win the fourth Test against India.

Ravindra Jadeja | GettyTeam India went from being 99 runs behind hosts England while resuming play on day 4 to set a target of 368 runs in the fourth Test match being played at The Oval in London.

Even though the wicket has been good for batting, England vice-captain Moeen Ali feels India’s left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja will be their biggest threat on the final day of this ongoing Test match.

Jasprit Bumrah is one of those bowlers that can make anything happen but Jadeja is the biggest threat on that wicket. It's such a flat wicket but we're still going to have to play well. India always fight back strongly and that's something we're going to have to be wary about,Ali told Sky Sports.

After bowling out India for 466, England openers Rory Burns (31*) and Haseeb Hameed (43*) came to bat in the third session of the fourth day. While the pair batted brilliantly to ensure that the hosts don’t lose any wicket, they also wiped off 77 runs from the target.

Thus, England needs 291 more runs to win this Test match on day 5 and go 2-1 up in this five match Test series which is currently levelled at 1-1 with only one more match to go after this Oval Test.

Moeen Ali then went on to praise the Burns-Hameed pair for batting out the remaining overs on day 4 and also pointed out the discipline both batters possess which will help them register an amazing partnership.

I thought the boys batted excellently. We knew if we get through the first 10 to 15 overs, the two guys who are in are very disciplined. They've done it before in the series when they put on an amazing partnership, so hopefully, they can do it again tomorrow,” the 34-year-old said.

With the bowlers having to toil on this wicket, it will be interesting to see whether Indian bowlers take early wickets to put pressure on the hosts or England batters get the runs to take a lead in this Test series.
