ENG v IND 2021: Kohli and his men won't be affected by England's statements, opines Danish Kaneria

Kohli came under the scanner for his over-the-top celebrations and constant sledging during Lord's Test.

Virat Kohli after winning the Lord's Test match by 151 runs | GettyTeam India recently registered a historic 151-run win over England in the second Test match at the Home of Cricket, Lord’s in London. Even though the tourists were on the verge of defeat at stumps on Day 4, Indians turned it around with their fantastic all-round performance.

The former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria who was highly impressed with Virat Kohli and Co, lauded them for an epic win and then talked about how they won’t be affected by the statements made against them by former and current England cricketers in the media.

England, through social media and media, are trying to down the other team by talking negatively. This was the same when we used to play against them, Kaneria said in his latest YouTube video.

Allan Donald lauds Jasprit Bumrah for his fast bowling skills and adaptability

They couldn't do anything on the ground so would try and bring something negative to take the mental level of opposition down. But I don't think Virat Kohli and his men will be affected by these statements. Instead it will increase further,” he added.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the one who wears his heart on the sleeve and expresses what he feels rather than maintaining a poker face. Thus, the 40-year-old from Karachi lauded the Indian captain for the aggression he showed on field and the kind of bowling changes he made in the Lord’s Test match.

Virat Kohli's aggression was superb. He lead the way in the field and even his bowling changes were superb. So I don't think such things will affect him and his team or put them under pressure,” the right-arm leg-spinner concluded.

With this amazing win at Lord’s, India went 1-0 up in this five-match Test series against England with the third Test to be played at Headingley in Leeds from 25 August.
