India came to Lord's on the final day of the second Test in quite a bit of trouble with a lead of just 154 runs and four wickets in hand. The 'only' hope was Rishabh Pant and he too fell quite early poking at delivery by Ollie Robinson for 22.

Ishant Sharma showed some courage to score 16 runs but once he fell, India was 209/8 and just 182 runs ahead. That's when Mohammad Shami was joined by Jasprit Bumrah and the fast bowlers scripted a bit of history by adding an unbroken partnership of 89 runs for the 9th wicket.

Shami scored 56*, his second half-century for India in Test cricket and Bumrah remained unbeaten on 34, his career-best in the format. India eventually declared at 298/8 to leave England a target of 272 to win the Test in 60 overs.

The Indian team led by Virat Kohli came out firing and the same fast bowling duo, Bumrah, and Shami dismissed the England openers Rory Burns and Dom Sibley for ducks.
