ENG v IND 2021: He is a 'rare' batsman, Inzamam-ul-Haq lauds KL Rahul after a century at Lord's

Rahul scored a fantastic century at Lord's in the second Test against England.

KL Rahul | GettyIndia batsman KL Rahul had a great outing in the second Test against England at Lord’s as he scored a sensational century to help India reach 364 in their first innings. Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, who was highly impressed with the Indian batsman praised him for his sixth Test century.

If we talk about KL Rahul, five of his six Test centuries have come away from home. This is second in England and he has scored a century in Australia as well. Very rarely do we see batsmen with such performances. Very few batsmen have such a record where their initial 8-10 centuries are away from home,Inzamam said on his YouTube channel.

You might have seen plenty of players with away centuries, but usually they score their first set of hundreds at home, gain experience and then score away. However, KL Rahul's system is the opposite,” he added.

KL Rahul started the tour with a fantastic knock of 84 runs in the first Test at Trent Bridge. The 51-year-old lauded the right-hand batsman for his confidence.

The confidence with which he is playing is great to watch. Even in the first Test, where he scored 84, it was more crucial than anyone else. He helped India gain the lead and played a huge role. So huge congratulations to KL Rahul,” the Multan-based cricketer concluded.

As far as the second Test at Lord’s is concerned, the hosts are 119/3 at Stumps on Day 2 trailing India by 245 runs with skipper Joe Root (48) and Jonny Bairstow (6) at the crease.
