KL Rahul got to his sixth Test hundred with a boundary | GettyThe first day of the second Test between England and India at Lord’s proved to be the visitors' thanks to KL Rahul’s sublime century and Rohit Sharma’s 83-run knock and their 126-run opening partnership setting up a great platform to build on.

England captain Joe Root had won the toss and decided to field first. The home side made three changes, bringing in Haseeb Hameed, Moeen Ali, and Mark Wood, while the visitors included Ishant Sharma for injured Shardul Thakur.

Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul made it a day to remember for India adding 126 runs for the first wicket. Rohit looked amazingly in control and made 83 runs with 11 fours and 1 six. It took a brilliant ball from James Anderson to send him back to the pavilion.

Cheteshwar Pujara’s dismal run continued as Anderson had him caught in slips for 9 runs. However, KL Rahul continued on reaching his fifty in 137 runs with 2 fours and 1 six. He was joined by Virat Kohli and the duo added a century-plus partnership.

KL Rahul continued to pick and choose the balls to hit and reached his sixth Test century in 212 balls with a boundary off Mark Wood. He became the third Indian opener to score a Test century at Lord’s after Vinoo Mankad (1952) and Ravi Shastri (1990).

His innings was so good and proper that cricket experts couldn’t keep themselves from praising it on social media.
