Ravindra Jadeja is one of the fittest cricketers not only in the Indian team but in the world today. Cricket fans are not only impressed with his batting and bowling but are also awestruck with his amazing fielding skills.

With his improved batting and bowling, Jadeja has become a key player for India in all three formats of the game in recent times. From taking beautiful catches effortlessly to producing direct hits from unbelievable angles, Jadeja’s fielding skills are an asset for Team India.

The reason behind his energetic attitude on the field is his years of hard work on his fitness regime. In a conversation with TimesofIndia.com, Jadeja revealed the secret behind him being one of the best fielders in the world of cricket.

Yes, I am one of the best fielders in the world. But I don’t take anything for granted, I keep working on my game and my fitness. I do a lot of shoulder exercises and running for that, for instance. That’s how I maintain my fitness, which helps me on the field,” Jadeja told TimesofIndia.com.

The Indian captain Virat Kohli, who himself is a fitness enthusiast has influenced his fellow teammates towards a healthier lifestyle. Fitness is also a crucial criterion for selection in the Indian team.

Jadeja credited Virat Kohli for the improved fitness standards of the team and said, “Virat definitely has been very enthusiastic, proactive, and fit. He believes a lot in fitness as well, so everyone has to raise their fielding standards. Everyone in the team has been working on their fitness, that’s why you can see the difference on the field now.”

Ravindra Jadeja has continued to hold his place in India playing XI for the second Test at Lord's. England won the toss and chose to field first, making three changes in their XI. India also made one change bringing in Ishant Sharma for Shardul Thakur.
