Former captain Michael Vaughan is expecting no rain interruption in the second Test between India and England. The first Test was close to an outcome but the rain played a spoilsport on the last day and the match ended in a draw at Trent Bridge.
Vaughan has his fingers crossed for the second Test at Lord's. He said there is a good forecast for the next few days and it is likely to be an exciting match with full five days of play.
"I'm home, which is like three hours away from London. You can see my window; the sun is glaring through. I believe (fingers crossed), there is no rain forecast up north or down south for the next week which means that we should be set for a full Test match. You never know in the UK; I am sure it may surprise but as we speak, no rain forecast for the Test match," Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.
In the first match, India were chasing 209 to win and they ended the fourth day at 52/1. With Day 5's play left, they needed another 157 to win and nine wickets in hand. Virat Kohli and co had a good chance of taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series which didn't happen due to non-stop rain.
England have called up spin-bowling all-rounder Moeen Ali for the second Test, kicking off on Thursday (August 12). England's batting line-up collapsed in the first Test as India bowled them out on 183 in the first innings. They managed to score 303 in the second innings after skipper Joe Root's hundred.
