KL Rahul | GettyIndia batsman KL Rahul has impressed everyone with his knock of 84 runs against England in the first Test at Trent Bridge. Rahul, who got the opportunity to open the innings after injuries to Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal, made the most of this chance to cement his place in the XI.

Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria was completely in awe of the right-handed batsman, in his latest YouTube video as he talked about how Rahul has succeeded in making a strong case for himself in Test arena.

The way KL Rahul applied himself was really superb. He batted exactly the way one has to in England. KL Rahul is apparently cementing his place at the top of the order in Test cricket. The ball was moving and there was also uneven bounce. But he played steadily and with confidence,” Kaneria said.

Along with Rahul, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scored a crucial fifty to not only get past England’s score of 183, but also to get a decent lead in the first innings. The former Pakistan leg spinner then explained the importance of Jadeja in this Indian team.

Whenever you make an ODI, T20I or Test team, Jadeja is a type of player that cannot be left out. He is a remarkable all-rounder. His brilliant knock of 56 and Rahul's innings helped India take a first-innings lead, the former cricketer stated in his YouTube video.

After the dismissals of Rahul and Jadeja, India’s lower order played brilliantly as well as they added some precious first innings runs to get a good 95-run lead over England. The hosts however managed to end Day 3 without losing any wickets with 25 runs on the board.
