ENG v IND 2021: You need cloud cover but not too much- Jaffer takes a jibe at England fans

The third session on Day 2 was completely washed out.

Play on Day 2 was called off after rain played a spoilsport | GettyTeam India had a great Day 1 in this first Test match against England as they bowled out the latter for just 183 runs and managed to keep their all 10 wickets intact as openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma played out the 13 overs.

But on Day 2 as the Indian innings resumed from 21/0, the first session belonged to India as both the openers looked really good and added 97 runs to their partnership but unfortunately just a ball before Lunch, Rohit was dismissed as he tried to pull one off Robinson.

In the second session, England pacer James Anderson dominated as he first removed Cheteshwar Pujara on 4 followed by the Indian captain Virat Kohli for a golden duck on two consecutive deliveries.

Virat Kohli’s deputy Ajinkya Rahane also had to walk back to the pavilion after a lapse in communication with KL Rahul and a direct hit from Jonny Bairstow made sure the Indian vice-captain was run out.

Thus, the tourists were reduced to 125/4 in the second session. While England was on a roll and making a comeback in the game, the typical English weather played a spoilsport and the play was called off on Day 2 after being resumed for just 2 deliveries.

As the third session was completely washed out, former India batsman Wasim Jaffer who is known for his sarcastic and extremely funny tweets on Twitter, decided to take a jibe at the UK weather and English fans.

Being England fan must be tricky. You need cloud cover but not too much #ENGvIND,” Jaffer wrote on Twitter.
