India and England are currently engaged in the first Test of the five-match series at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The series began on Wednesday (August 4) as England captain Joe Root won the toss and bravely chose to bat first despite the help on offer from the pitch which carried grass.

Root (64) apart, none of the English batsmen could adjust to the extensive movement from the pitch and in the air by the Indian bowlers as they folded for just 183 in their first innings.

Fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah (4/46), Mohammad Shami (3/28), Shardul Thakur (2/41) and Mohammed Siraj (1/48) shared the wickets as India enjoyed a wonderful day one in the series.

With players not allowed to shine the ball with saliva in the times of COVID-19 pandemic, teams have no option but to use sweat and find other legal methods to keep the shine on one side of the ball to find some reverse swing.

Siraj, hilariously, was spotted shining the ball by touching the forehead of Shami, and using the sweat on the ball. Here is the video:

India were 97/1 at the lunch break on the second day after KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma provided a strong start to the visitors in their first innings.
