Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg has shared his views on the upcoming much-awaited five-match Test series between England and India starting on Wednesday (August 4) at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

As the Indian cricket team hasn’t won a Test series in England since 2007, Hogg believes that the upcoming Test series is a fresh one and the tourists have a strong bowling attack and would have well acclimatized to the English condition to break the jinx this time around.

Indian team has been in England for two months and played a few games, including the intra-squad matches and the three-day warm-up against Select County XI and the former Australian spinner said Virat Kohli and his team should be adjusted to the conditions and well prepared to counter England attack instead of making any excuses in the upcoming Test series.

Hogg said on his YouTube channel: “The last time India went to England in 2018, they got walloped 4-1. But this is a new series. They have been over there for two months. They have played in the World Test Championship final. They have played a lot of warm-up games. So, there are no excuses. They should be adjusted to these foreign conditions.”

India's pace battery comprising of Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammed Siraj is arguably the best going around in the world at the moment and Hogg singled out a bowler who can be the game-changer for India.

Praising Shami, the Aussie said the pacer is going to be the bee's knees in the upcoming Test series and will be the match-winner for India.

He signed off by saying, “If you look at Shami, he bowled brilliantly the last time. He was just beating the outside edge and had a couple of dropped chances. But I think Shami is going to be the bee's knees in this series. He is the one who is going to win it for India. I think he is going to have a lot more luck if he bowls as he did in the World Test Championship final.”
