An unnamed Indian cricketer has tested positive for COVID-19 in England, as per a report in The Indian Express. The player is presently in home isolation at a relative's place and is likely to join the Indian squad in Durham after recovery.

The Indian team is set to go back into the bio-bubble on Thursday after a three week break which the players used to unwind with their families and friends in various parts of UK. India had arrived in UK in early June for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand.

The player as per the report complained of a sore throat, which led to the COVID-19 test and the result of it came out to be positive. The player was in contact with few teammates and support staff members. All of them were kept in isolation for three days, which is now completed.

The Indian team is set to play a County XI in a three-day warm-up fixture from July 20 in Durham. The team would hope no other cases emerge in the camp that could hurt their preparations ahead of the high profile five-match Test series against England.

So far BCCI has not spoken on the matter and more information might emerge in the next 24-48 hours.
