Team India was completely outplayed by New Zealand in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) as the latter claimed the inaugural title with a comfortable 8-wicket win at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
While the New Zealand bowling unit proved to be quite lethal, the Indian pacers failed to trouble the Kiwi batsmen as much. India pacer Jasprit Bumrah who was a part of this bowling unit received a lot of criticism for his performance in the final as he went wicketless in the crucial Test match.
The former India batsman Aakash Chopra in his latest YouTube video talked about Bumrah’s struggle in the big final and also opined a reason behind the right-arm quick being unable to trouble the Kiwi batsmen in England.

“There is no doubt Bumrah is a special bowler, he is one of its kind. Absolute phenomenal bowler but is quick in the air. He keeps his hand straight, so the ball goes absolutely straight, doesn't swing much,” Chopra said in his latest YouTube video.
“In the first half of the English summer, you need to make the ball move a lot more because the ball comes slightly slower after pitching. Then it becomes slightly easier to play,” he added.
The cricketer-turned-commentator then backed the 27-year-old to do well in the upcoming Test series against England.
“In the second half of the English summer, if you bowl at this pace, the airspeed comes very handily because the ball starts reversing. Let's be patient, a one-off game for Bumrah. I am not going to read too much into his performances,” the 43-year-old signed off.
After the WTC final against New Zealand, Virat Kohli and Co. are scheduled to take on hosts England in a five-match Test series that too possibly in front of a capacity crowd.
