Former captain Michael Vaughan doesn't see England beating India in the upcoming five-match Test series with their current issues in the team.
Team India had defeated England earlier this year at home, but the conditions will be in favor of Joe Root and co this time around.
However, Vaughan still believes with the fragile batting line-up, England would struggle against the Virat Kohli-led Indian team. India and England will play a five-match Test series starting August 4.
"You, know this series against New Zealand, it's been dry for the week leading into that first Test at Lords, played no spinner, exactly the same at Edgbaston, didn't play a spinner, and the batting line-up is fragile, it's simple as that," Vaughan said on the 'Road to the Ashes' podcast.
Earlier, ex-England spinner Monty Panesar backed India to whitewash England at home, pointing out that the home side lacks quality batters. Even batting legend Rahul Dravid believes India has a good chance to win the series.
Vaughan said England would lack the batting depth against a strong bowling unit of Team India despite the inclusion of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes, who were not part of the Test series against New Zealand recently.
"Buttler, Stokes, and Woakes have come back, yes, they'll improve the team but unless that batting line-up changes and can learn and understand how to get big scores against good bowling, and not against second-string Test match standard bowling, I just can't see how they can compete. It's going to be tough for England to beat India on these shores. But then to go to Australia if they won't get 450-500, I just can't see [them being competitive]," he added.
