CWC 2023: "Can’t carry on this blow for rest of life"- Kapil Dev advises India to move on and learn from mistakes

Cricket legend Kapil Dev urged the Indian players to move on and learn valuable lessons from the mistakes that led to their six-wicket defeat against Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final.

In a tough blow to the Indian cricket team, dejection was seen on the faces of the Indian players following their heartbreaking defeat against Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 final, which was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.

The Rohit Sharma-led Team India had a remarkable World Cup 2023 campaign, but the hosts unexpectedly faltered and suffered a six-wicket defeat in the final in Ahmedabad. Several Meni Blue players were seen with tears in their eyes while walking back to the dressing room.

Well, India’s first World Cup-winning captain advised the Men in Blue to not carry this blow for the rest of their lives, and to move forward and learn from their mistakes for the betterment of the Indian cricket game.

As reported by News18, Kapil Dev said: “Sportsman has to move on. Can’t carry on this blow for the rest of life. This is for the fans. A sportsman has to move on. What’s happened cannot be undone. Keep working hard. That’s what a sportsman is all about.”

The legendary all-rounder signed off by saying, “They played really good cricket. Yes, they couldn’t cross the final hurdle. What we can learn from this mistake is what a sportsman is all about.”

Notably, India had won 10 games in a row before faltering against Australia in the CWC 2023 final.
