Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has lashed out at former Pakistan cricketer Hasan Raza’s bizarre comments that Indian bowlers are getting “different and suspicious balls” in the ongoing World Cup.

Hasan’s remarks created quite a stir on social media, and he was slammed by the fans and former cricketers alike.

Speaking on the Club Prairie Fire podcast, Shastri rubbished Hasan Raza’s conspiracy theory and also claimed the former Pakistan cricketer would now come and say that the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav were given "technology" to take wickets in matches.

"Good job. Good job he is there. Let him stay there. What he is talking is a whole load of cock and bull. Next he will come and say when Jadeja bowls it goes at certain revolutions and when Kuldeep comes on the other side, there's another piece of technology on the other side of the ball that makes the ball go the other way. It's all crap," said Shastri.

The Indian pace troika, comprising Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj, has been sensational in the matches that they have played together in this World Cup.

Notably, Shami warmed the bench for the first four games as the Indian team management preferred to go with the two seam-bowling all-rounders – Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur.

However, Hardik’s ankle injury during the match against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19, which eventually ruled him out of the tournament, paved the way for Shami’s inclusion in the XI.

Since then, the Indian fast bowlers have been running through the opposition batting line-ups, bundling out teams like New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Netherlands for 273, 129, 55, 83 and 250 respectively.

Rohit Sharma and his men have qualified for the World Cup 2023 semi-final without losing a match in the league stage. They will face New Zealand in the semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on November 15.
