Pakistan are currently facing England in their last league match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Asked to bowl first, the Men in Green conceded a massive total of 337/9 on the board. Ben Stokes starred with the bat for England as he scored 84 off 76 balls while Joe Root (60) and Jonny Bairstow (59) also slammed half-centuries.
During England’s innings, an incident involving Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan caught everyone’s attention.
After Shaheen Afridi dismissed Stokes on the first delivery of the 41st over, the Pakistani players assembled to celebrate the wicket. However, Babar looked a bit animated in his celebration as he tried to stop Rizwan from rejoicing the wicket.
Apparently, the Pakistan captain was a little frustrated with the wicketkeeper, who had also burnt a review against Joe Root earlier in the match.

Notably, Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 campaign came to an end in this game as they couldn’t pull off an improbable task to qualify for the semi-final.
Babar Azam’s men needed to beat the defending champions by at least 287 runs to eliminate New Zealand as the fourth semi-finalist on the basis of net run rate. In case of chasing, they ought to overhaul the target in less than five overs.
Since England won the toss and opted to bat first, Pakistan weren’t able to fulfill the first criteria while they were reduced to 18/2 after five overs in the chase.
