India batter Virat Kohli fully enjoyed his 35th birthday as he starred in his team’s 8th consecutive win in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. India blew away South Africa in Kolkata by 243 runs to confirm their no.1 spot in the points table.
India chose to bat first and thanks to Virat Kohli (101*), Shreyas Iyer (77), Rohit Sharma (40) and Ravindra Jadeja (29*), posted 326/5 in 50 overs. Kohli completed his 49th ODI century and equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most tons in ODIs and became the third Indian to hit a century on his birthday as well.
In response, Ravindra Jadeja picked 5/33 as South Africa was bowled out for 83 runs as lost by a huge margin of 243 runs.
As Indian bowlers were running through the Proteas batting, Kohli was busy entertaining himself and the crowd as he was seen on camera singing Shah Rukh Khan’s song ‘Chaleya’ from Jawan. He also did the famous SRK pose, much to the joy of the crowd.

Not content with this, Virat Kohli also paid tribute to his wife Anushka Sharma as well. As the DJ at Eden Gardens played “Ainyavi Ainvayi” from Anushka’s movie Band Baja Baarat, Kohli was seen doing the hook step from the song.
