Indian bowlers ran through the Sri Lankan batting line-up in Match 33 of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday (November 2).
Defending the total of 358, India reduced Sri Lanka to 29/8 in 13.1 overs. The pace troika of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammad Shami shared the wickets among them.
However, one wicket completely belonged to India wicketkeeper KL Rahul and that was of Dushmantha Chameera.
During the 12th over of Sri Lanka’s innings, Shami bowled a short of length delivery down the leg to Chameera, who gloved it and Rahul dived to his left to grab the ball.
While the on-field umpire gave it wide, Rahul was so confident that he persuaded India skipper Rohit Sharma to take a review. As it turned out, UltraEdge showed a tiny speck on the glove and Chameera had to walk back to the pavilion for a duck.
After the dismissal, KL Rahul was all smiles and he reacted in a hilarious manner.
