Ace India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has missed a couple of matches in ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 after injuring his ankle against Bangladesh in Pune. Since then, India has included Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammad Shami to make up for Pandya and both players have done well.
It was revealed in scans, as per reports, that Pandya had suffered a grade 1 strain to his left ankle, which he twisted while trying to stop a ball on his follow-through. He went to the NCA to consult the doctors there and as per latest reports, had started batting in the nets.
And now, it has been revealed that Hardik Pandya will rejoin the Indian squad in Mumbai ahead of their next match against Sri Lanka on November 2nd.
“Yes, Pandya, who is presently recuperating at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, will join the team in Mumbai. Right now, we can’t be sure if he will play against Sri Lanka, but he’s slated to join the team,” a reliable source told TOI.
Pandya’s return to the India camp will surely be good news for the hosts, who have won all six of their World Cup games so far. Pandya has taken five wickets in four games at an average of 22.60, besides scoring 11 runs in the World Cup so far in limited batting opportunities.
