Indian team fan club, Bharat Army gave a lesson in karma to Barmy Army, after they had mocked Virat Kohli by sharing his morphed photo of a duck after the Indian batter got out for 0 in the recent ICC World Cup 2023 match against England in Lucknow on October 29.
India was put into bat first by Jos Buttler, who won the toss. The Men in Blue only managed 229/9 in 50 over as David Willey took three wickets. For India, Rohit Sharma made 87, Suryakumar Yadav made 49 and KL Rahul scored 39 runs.
Many expected that England would complete the paltry chase easily, but Mohammad Shami (4/22) and Jasprit Bumrah (3 wickets) had other ideas. They shared 7 wickets between them, while Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets.
In the end, England’s dismal World Cup 2023 continued as they were bowled out for 129 runs and lost the match by 100 runs.
After the match, the Bharat Army gave an apt reply to the Barmy Army, who had mocked Virat Kohli by sharing a morphed duck photo with Kohli’s head on it. Kohli had fallen for 0 to Willey.
In a classic case of karma biting back, Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Mark Wood fell for ducks in England innings. Joe Root was LBW first ball by Jasprit Bumrah and earned a golden duck, while Ben Stokes had his timber rattled by Mohammad Shami, going for an adventurous shot.
Bharat Army shared their own version of morphed photos of Stokes and Root on their X handle. And to rub it in further said “Good night” by adding Mark Wood as well.
