2011 World Cup winner Sreesanth heaped praise on Virat Kohli and made a big statement that it will be tough for the future batters to break the records set by India’s batting superstar.
Kohli is just two centuries away from breaking legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most hundreds in ODI cricket. The dashing right-hander is already the fourth-highest run-getter in the format.
The former Indian skipper is currently in stunning form in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, where he has amassed 354 runs in just 5 matches to help India win all 5 matches that they have played so far in the tournament.
Sreesanth told Sportskeeda: “We are all talking about Sachin Tendulkar's records, but Kohli is going to break the record for hundreds, fifties and most runs in the World Cup. Someone else might break it in the future, but it would be very hard for future batters to break Virat Kohli's records.”
Praising Kohli's form in the World Cup 2023, the former Indian pacer said he has hunger not just for runs, but he does everything on the field with full passion and emotion.
Sreesanth signed off by saying, “You can just keep on talking about Virat. The best thing especially in this World Cup is that hunger he has got, and not just for runs.
When he is fielding, he does it with passion. For India, cricket is a religion and the whole world as well, it is an emotion. He plays with so much emotion. The way Virat plays, everything from sports to arts, gets expression.”
Notably, Kohli will next be seen in action in Lucknow when Team India lock horns against England on October 29 in the ongoing World Cup 2023.
