Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh took a brutal dig at England after the defending champions suffered a humiliating defeat of eight wickets against Sri Lanka at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Bengaluru.

England were bundled out for just 156 runs, and Sri Lanka chased down the target inside 26 overs to hand the defending champions their fourth loss in the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023.

This defeat put England’s semifinal chances in jeopardy, as they are placed in the ninth spot in the points table.

After the match, Harbhajan Singh said that it seemed that England forgot how to play ODI cricket seeing how they played against Sri Lanka.

Harbhajan Singh said in a YouTube video: “Jos Buttler has never looked so clueless. Ben Stokes was asked to come out of retirement ahead of the World Cup but got injured. He has failed to make a significant impact in the matches he has played.”

He added, “England loved to chase in white-ball cricket and had batters who only dealt in fours and sixes. However, forget about boundaries; they aren't even sure of how to take singles. It seems as if they have forgotten how to play this format. They haven't looked like world champions.”

He further predicted another defeat for England, as they will next face table-toppers India in Lucknow on October 29.

Harbhajan signed off by saying, “England's next match is against India. I don't think they are capable of beating India, and they will have to deal with yet another loss. I feel it might be a spin-friendly surface, and we could see India play three spinners.”
