Australia captain Pat Cummins could barely hold his laughter in when he was asked about England’s poor form in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. Cummins was facing the press before his team’s CWC 2023 match against New Zealand in Dharamshala on October 28.

England has not had a good outing in the World Cup so far, having lost four out of five matches they have played. They are placed in the 9th spot in the points table with 2 points from 5 matches.

Their latest humiliation came against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Jos Buttler and co. were bowled out for 156 runs in 33.1 overs. Ben Stokes top-scored with 43 runs, as Lahiru Kumara grabbed three wickets for Sri Lanka, while Kasun Rajitha and Angelo Mathews each took two.

In response, despite losing two wickets early, Pathum Nissanka’s 77* and Sadeera Samarawickrama’s 65* took Sri Lanka home in 25.4 overs.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins was asked about England's poor run, which saw a dominating loss to Sri Lanka, effectively ending the reigning champions' aspirations of defending their World Cup crown. Cummins was attending the pre-match press conference before their October 28 match against New Zealand in Dharamshala.

A journalist asked Cummins: “I imagine you would have been heartbroken to see England suffer defeat last night. What was your reaction to that, given you’ve got them in a couple of games’ time?

Cummins could barely hold in his laughter and said: “Obviously got them in a couple of games’ time, so we’ll have a close look there. But yeah, it was sad to see.
