Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal made a surprising statement amidst the challenging times the Men in Green have been facing both off and on the field at the Cricket World Cup 2023.
Captain Babar Azam and the Pakistan cricket team have been facing heat from the fans and the cricketers after their humiliating defeat against Afghanistan in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
Now, Pakistan will have to win all their remaining games to make it to the top four of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, having lost three games in a row in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Akmal said that Pakistan should not win a single game in the tournament as it will improve their game. He said that Pakistani players’ egos became their own rivals, and even if they return to winning ways after a few games, Babar and his team will repeat the same mistakes.

Kamran Akmal said on ARY News: “If you want to improve Pakistan cricket, best thing would be ab koi match na jeete (don't win any more matches). If they starting getting in form, they will repeat the same thing.”
Akmal’s statement left the anchor stun as he said: “What are you saying!! I can’t see Pakistan lose.” To which Pakistani cricketer replied by saying, “It's not about losing. That way their ego won't come in the way.”
On the other hand, Aaqib Javed said that Shaheen Shah Afridi should be made Pakistan captain in the limited-overs ball formats, as Babar failed to prove himself as a good captain in the format.
Javed said, “Shaheen is the best bet for the future of Pakistan cricket. Babar has failed to prove himself as an able captain in white ball formats.”
Notably, Pakistan will next face South Africa in the ongoing World Cup 2023 on October 27 in Chennai.
