India and New Zealand are clashing in the 21st match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. This encounter will be played in Dharamshala on October 22, 2023. Both the teams have won all four of their league stage matches till now.

Speaking ahead of the match, former India head coach Ravi Shastri has said that he would not mind if India loses one of their league stage matches in the ongoing World Cup 2023.

Shastri also recalled MS Dhoni’s golden words that he’d prefer losing one game in the league stage than to come to the semi-final or the final and lose there. Shastri also pointed out how India lost just one group-stage game in the 2011 World Cup, but went on to win the trophy.

CWC 2023: WATCH- “Very professional and structured side”- Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma lavish praise on New Zealand

"In 2011 India lost one game. And that was a league game to South Africa, but they went on to win the World Cup. I remember MS Dhoni when he was the captain said once, 'You know, sometimes in the league format (in World Cup), it's good to lose one game, you know, because you know, you don't want to be suddenly caught in a semifinal or final where you want everything and then you get the shivers,'" Shastri revealed on Star Sports.

India’s batting has been in top form, especially the two veteran batters in captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rohit has 265 runs in 4 matches with one century and one fifty. Kohli has scored 259 runs with one century and two fifties to his name.

India's victories have not just been a result of their batting prowess, but also their bowling strength. The bowlers have managed to take a total of 36 wickets in the four games, contributing significantly to the team's success.
