With three days left for the crucial fixture, PCB’s media manager Ahsan Iftikhar Nagi has confirmed that most of the players who were down with viral fever have recovered while a few of them are still under medical observation.

Babar Azam and his men arrived in Bangalore on Sunday (October 15), a day after losing to arch-rivals India by seven wickets in Ahmedabad.

“Some players got fever in the past few days and most of them have fully recovered from it. Those who are in the stage of recovery remain under the team medical panel’s observation,” Ahsan told PTI on Tuesday (October 17).

PCB’s media manager also confirmed that skipper Babar Azam and leading pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi were doing fine.

The team trained at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday. The Men in Green are due to face Australia on October 20.

Pakistan opened their World Cup campaign with a thumping 81-run victory over Netherlands and followed it with a six-wicket win against Sri Lanka. However, the team struggled badly against India in Ahmedabad.

It’s still the early stage in the showpiece tournament and Pakistan will have to pull up their socks if they are to get back to winning ways against Australia.
