Pakistan head coach Grant Bradburn shared his insights on his team’s performance after their seven-wicket defeat against India at the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad.
Bradburn noted that Pakistan's performance at the halfway point was acceptable but not ideal. The Pakistani coach expressed a desire for a more aggressive approach, aiming to bring out the best in his players in the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
Bradburn revealed that Pakistan wanted to post 330 plus on the board, but they failed to capitalize on the good start at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Well, he insisted that Pakistan’s crushing defeat against India was a "good learning experience in playing for his team.
As reported by Times of India, Grant Bradburn said: “We were sitting OK at the halfway point. I wouldn’t say it’s where we wanted to be. I would have liked to be a little more aggressive today. As everyone is aware, we were wanting to bring more out of our players. I don’t think we showed that really enough in the first half.”
The Pakistani coach further said, “Part of the collapse was the fact that we are learning all the time. Everyday, is a good learning day. Black soil, red soil, mixed soil — we are learning all about that. We saw today how difficult it is to start an innings. We had a number of guys who got underway but didn’t finish the job.”
Bradburn signed off by saying, “We want to be a 330 plus team. We have shown that in recent times. At the halfway stage, that was certainly within our sights. When you get in, you go big. And, it is difficult to start on the black soil. We’ve certainly learnt that.”
