India outplayed Pakistan in Ahmedabad | GettyBatting legend Sachin Tendulkar trolled former speedster Shoaib Akhtar after India thrashed Pakistan by seven wickets in Match 12 of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Saturday (October 14).

On the eve of the marquee fixture, Shoaib had tweeted a picture of him celebrating Sachin’s wicket at the Eden Gardens in 1999 with the caption, “Kal agar asa kuch kerna hai, toh #ThandRakh”.

However, Tendulkar didn’t miss a chance to take a dig at Akhtar after India outclassed the arch-rivals.

“My friend, aap ka advice follow kiya aur sab kuch billlkoool THANDA rakha….,” Tendulkar quoted his post and wrote.

Tendulkar’s former teammate Virender Sehwag also teased Shoaib Akhtar in his unique style.

“Shayad khamoshi ke chauke dekhkar Pakistani batsman ne jaldi jaldi pavillion lautne ki thaan li. Jhel nahi paaye yaar pressure Haha..Koi nahi Shoaib Bhai. Na Ishq Na Pyaar mein.. Jo Maza 8-0 ki haar mein !,” Sehwag replied to Akhtar’s tweet.

Coming to the match, Pakistan’s innings folded for a below-par 191 in 42.5 overs after being asked to bat first. The Men in Green were 155/2 at one stage but suffered a collapse that saw them lose eight wickets for just 36 runs.

In reply, India rode on skipper Rohit Sharma’s dazzling 86 off 63 balls to overhaul the target with 19.3 overs to spare.
