CWC 2023: Fans slam BCCI after musical ceremony before IND v PAK match not broadcasted on Star Sports

Arijit Singh performing before India v Pakistan match | XIndia and Pakistan are set to clash in the 12th match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 to be hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14. Both the teams have won their first two matches in the tournament.

BCCI had revealed that there would be a special musical ceremony before the match begins in Ahmedabad stadium. The three Golden ticket receivers Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, and Rajnikanth are to attend the event and watch the match.

The musical event had performances from three of the best Bollywood musicians Arijit Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, and Sukhwinder Singh.

Many fans were eagerly awaiting to watch their favorite singers perform live in front of a huge crowd and catch the event live from their homes on the official broadcaster Star Sports.

However, before the musical event started, Star Sports put out a message on social media saying that the musical ceremony before the India v Pakistan match in Ahmedabad was not broadcast on TV and was exclusively for the in-stadia fans only.

The ceremony at the Narendra Modi stadium before match 12 of ICC CWC 2023 (India v Pakistan) has been planned for in-stadia fans. The ceremony is not for broadcast,” Star Sports posted on X.

This led to some frustrated reactions from cricket fans on X, who expected to watch the singers perform. Many shared their anger on the platform slamming the organization of the event as well.
