India and Pakistan to clash in Ahmedabad on October 14 in World Cup 2023 | GettyBCCI had received criticism for not having any opening ceremony for the ICC World Cup 2023 which began in India on October 5. New Zealand and England clashed in the tournament opener in Ahmedabad without any fanfare.

Media and cricket fans were surprised that BCCI, known for having a gala event ahead of big events like IPL 2023 most recently, didn’t have any ceremony to mark the beginning of the World Cup, which they are hosting solely for the first time.

However, reports have suggested that BCCI has planned a musical ceremony ahead of the India vs. Pakistan match at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.
