CWC 2023: WATCH – Commentators in splits as Rizwan falls down on the pitch after hitting a six due to cramps

Rizwan fell down on the pitch after hitting Dhananjaya de Silva for a six over long-off.

Mohammad Rizwan battling cramps | ScreengrabMohammad Rizwan continued his brilliant form as he slammed an unbeaten century in Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 match against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad, which they won by six wickets.

After performing the wicketkeeping job for 50 overs, Rizwan arrived in the middle when Pakistan were reeling at 37/2 in the eighth over while chasing the huge target of 345.

As he usually does, Rizwan took a bit of time to get his eyes in before he started dominating the Sri Lankan attack.

Rizwan added 176 runs for the third wicket with Abdullah Shafique, who slammed 113 off 103 balls before getting out.

After Abdullah’s dismissal, Rizwan started playing the role of aggressor. However, he was struggling with cramps and fell down on the pitch after hitting Dhananjaya de Silva for a six over long-off in the 37th over.

While it was painful for Rizwan, the way he fell down on the pitch left everyone in splits, including the commentators.

Rizwan cheekily admitted ‘sometimes cramp, sometimes acting’ when Simon Doull asked him about the cramps at the post-match presentation ceremony, as he was named the Player-of-the-Match for his unbeaten 131.
