Jarvo 69 (Daniel Jarvis), the infamous YouTube prankster, made headlines during the India vs. Australia ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match on October 8. India won the match by 6 wickets in Chennai.
Australia had batted first after winning the toss and only managed 199 runs with David Warner and Steve Smith scoring in 40s. Ravindra Jadeja picked three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav took two scalps each.
In response, Mitchell Starc’s first-over strike of Ishan Kishan for a duck and then Josh Hazlewood’s two wickets of Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer, both for zeroes, left India reeling at 2/3.
Then Virat Kohli (85) and KL Rahul (97*) added 165 runs for the fourth wicket and took India home with 52 balls to spare and 6 wickets in hand.
Meanwhile, apart from the cricketing action, the highlight of the match was the pitch invasion by YouTube prankster Jarvo 69. The infamous Youtuber had made a name for himself by repeatedly entering the field during the 2021 England vs. India Test series.
And now, he once again hogged the spotlight when he ventured onto the field wearing an India World Cup jersey. He was asked to leave by multiple Indian cricketers, including KL Rahul and then when he was being escorted out of the ground, even Virat Kohli had some words to say to him.
Meanwhile, the ICC has banned Jarvo 69 from attending any further matches in the tournament.
All this while, the prankster soaked up the adulation and shared the video of his intrusion on the field on his social media handles.
He captioned the video: “Jarvo 69 Making his long-awaited Cricket World Cup debut for India!”
