The Pakistan cricket team might have suffered back-to-back defeats in both warm-up games against New Zealand and Australia ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, but they are having a gala time in Hyderabad off the field, enjoying a great meal in the city of Nizams.

Pakistan Camp is currently residing in Hyderabad, and the biryani of this city is famous across the globe, especially among overseas cricketers. Now, seemingly the Pakistani players are gorging on the exquisite rice dish in the team hotel.

Well, the Pakistan team is currently under fire for their poor fielding in the World Cup 2023 warm-up matches, and after a defeat against Australia, stand-in captain Shadab Khan has jokingly blamed Hyderabadi Biryani for the Men in Green’s poor efforts on the field.

Shadab Khan said during the post-match press conference when he was asked about the famous Hyderabadi Biryani: “We are eating it daily, and perhaps that is why we are getting a bit slow.”

The leg-spinner also highlighted the positives gained from the recent CWC 2023 warm-up games, stressing that the result wasn't the primary focus, it was about getting confidence.

Shadab further explained, “Result is not important. We took a lot of positives. Our attitude was good, result not in our hands. I think our 11 is sorted, we just wanted to give time to the bench to show their skills. When you play against Australia and New Zealand, you get confidence. We got a little bit of experience of conditions [in Hyderabad].”

Notably, Pakistan will open its ODI World Cup 2023 campaign against the Netherlands on October 6 in the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
