Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been a big asset for Team India across formats over the years, and once again, the team will be hoping for him to deliver match-winning performances for the hosts at the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Jadeja will be a key player for the Indian cricket team in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, given his remarkable fielding, batting, and ability to take crucial wickets.

However, his current batting form could be a weak point for India in the showpiece event, as he hasn’t scored an ODI fifty since 2020.

Reacting to Jadeja’s recent low scores, legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar said that this is not a major concern as the star all-rounder is a superstar and wonderful player who contributes in every aspect of the game and will get some runs even running between the wickets.

Sunil Gavaskar was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times, “Not really. With the kind of experience that he has, it's not a worry. The important thing is that he is such a fast runner between the wickets. Often, we overlook it… the fact that from the non-striker end, he helps the batter covert ones into twos.”

He added, “So, I think those are the important little things. So yeah, I am not worried after Ravindra Jadeja at all. He is a top player, a wonderful player… rockstar, like Shane Warne once said.”

Notably, India will kickstart its World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
