CWC 2023: Pakistan players get emotional after witnessing such grand welcome in India

The Pakistan cricket team arrived in India after a long hiatus of seven years for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, starting on October 5, 2023.

The Babar Azam-led Pakistan team’s arrival in Hyderabad was met with an overwhelming outpouring of warmth and enthusiasm from the Indian cricket fans, as a large number of people thronged the Hyderabad airport to welcome and catch a glimpse of Pakistani cricketing heroes.

Social media was flooded with pictures and videos as people from both nations, India and Pakistan, shared their joy and excitement at this heartwarming welcome from Babar and Co.

Notably, a lot of fans also turned to the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, where the Pakistan team had their practice sessions.

Well, there is no match for the cricketing rivalry between India and Pakistan since these arch-rivals met only at multi-nation events, thanks to the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, a source from the Pakistan team revealed that the tourists never expected such a grand welcome in India, and after seeing that, the players got emotional.

A Pakistan team source told PTI: “We did expect people to turn up at the ground but a proper welcome at the airport from fans, we did not see that coming. They had lined up for the team. It was wonderful to witness that, even the players got emotional about it.”

Pakistan will play New Zealand in their first warm-up match in Hyderabad on September 29.
