Former Indian captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly showered rich praise on the Indian cricket team for their recent stellar performances ahead of the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

As Team India’s 2023 ODI World Cup preparations finished with a resounding 2-1 ODI series win against Australia on home turf, Ganguly’s hopes for the Men in Blue’s success in the upcoming showpiece event shine brightly.

Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India will embark on the World Cup 2023 as the number one ranked ODI side, which reflects their consistent excellence in the format.

Ganguly hopes that the hosts will continue their current brand of top-notch cricket over the next 45 days to make sure the trophy remains in India this time after more than one decade.

Sourav Ganguly told the reporters in Kolkata: “This is going to be a big World Cup. The World Cup is a big tournament. The team has been playing very well, so it is a matter of delight. We hope that they continue to play the same good cricket for the next 45 days.”

Notably, India will start their World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8. They will face Pakistan on October 13 in Ahmedabad.
