Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf became visibly frustrated during a recent press conference when a journalist asked about the lack of aggression in the Pakistan cricket team's matches against India ahead of the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Rauf, speaking ahead of the Pakistan team's departure for India, strongly responded to the journalists by saying that they are not there to engage in a battle, but to participate in a cricket match, in a reply that has gone viral on the social media.
Haris Rauf replied to the question on aggression ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023: “Why should I go and fight with Indians? It is cricket and not war.”
Rauf also confirmed that he is 100 per cent fit for the World Cup 2023 as he fully recovered from the shoulder injury that he sustained during the Asia Cup 2023.
Speaking about his fitness, the pacer noted: “Playing in any tournament for your country is a big deal. My fitness is better than before. We have confidence in ourselves as a team. The team management will decide whether to give me the new ball or the old ball.”
He signed off by saying, “I have no specific goal set for the World Cup. More emphasis is on team performance than individual performance.”
