Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has revealed his picks for the four semi-finalists in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. But in a shocking revelation, he didn’t choose Pakistan to finish in the top four at the ICC event which begins on October 5 in India.

The World Cup 2023 will feature 10 teams competing for the title in the tournament with 48 games played across 10 venues. The opening match will see defending champions England take on New Zealand in Ahmedabad on October 5 in Ahmedabad.

India will begin its campaign on October 8 against Australia in Chennai and their big-ticket clash against Pakistan will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14, 2023.

There are many teams vying for the World Cup trophy and cricket fans and experts are sharing their thoughts on which team might win the World Cup and before that, are picking the four teams that will reach the knock out stage.

All of the 10 teams will play each other once in the league stage and the top four teams will proceed to the semi-final. The semi-finals will be played in Kolkata and Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan shared his choices of four semi-finalists on social media platform X. He chose India, South Africa, England and Australia to reach the semi-finals. interestingly, he didn’t pick Pakistan, who were recently ranked no.1 side in ODIs, before being dethroned by India.

“My top 4 for this World Cup in india. 1) India 2) SOUTH AFRICA 3) ENGLAND 4) AUSTRALIA  what’s your guys ?” Irfan posted.
