South Africa on Tuesday (September 5) announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.
Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas in the quadrennial event, slated to be held in India from October 5 to November 19.
A notable inclusion in South Africa's World Cup squad is right-arm pacer Gerald Coetzee, who made his international debut earlier this year. In his two ODI appearances so far, Coetzee has picked up five wickets, including a three-wicket haul on debut.
The squad features experienced batters such as Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, and Rassie van der Dussen.
Kagiso Rabada will lead the South African pace attack, also comprising Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi.
Spinners are expected to play a vital role in the Indian conditions during the World Cup and the Proteas squad boasts a couple of quality spinners in Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi.
South Africa will open their 50-over World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on October 7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
