Pakistan are scheduled to play their World Cup games in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

Pakistan cricket team | GettyLast month, the International Cricket Council (ICC) released the complete fixtures for the 2023 ODI World Cup, slated to be held in India from October 5 to November 19.

As per the schedule, the highly-anticipated India versus Pakistan encounter will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15. Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata are the other four venues where Pakistan’s matches have been allocated.

Meanwhile, a report published in ESPNCricinfo claims that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has set-up a high level committee consisting of ministers, including Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto, to decide on the country’s participation in the ODI World Cup in India later this year.

According to the report, the committee will be responsible for making recommendations regarding Pakistan cricket team’s travel to India.

Last week, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had written to the country’s government, seeking official clearance to travel to India for the 50-over World Cup.

Some of the other prominent names in the committee include sports Minister Ahsan Mazari, interior minister Rana Sanaullah and law and justice minister Azam Nazeer Tarar.

As per the report, the committee would discuss on if the team would travel to Ahmedabad for their clash against India while the other four venues will also be discussed.

Earlier, it was also reported that the PCB doesn’t want Pakistan’s World Cup games to be played in Ahmedabad unless it is a knock-out fixture like final.

"Sethi has conveyed to Barclay and Allardice that Pakistan doesn't want its matches to be scheduled in Ahmedabad unless it is a knock-out game like final," PTI quoted a senior PCB source as saying last month.

"He requested ICC to schedule their games in Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata if national team gets clearance from Pakistan government to travel to India for the global event scheduled in October and November," he added.

Pakistan are scheduled to begin their World Cup campaign against Netherlands in Hyderabad on October 6.
