India and South Africa will square off in the title clash at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (November 2), with Women's World Cup set to have a new champion alongside former winners Australia, England and New Zealand.

On the eve of the marquee game, the members of the Indian men’s team extended their best wishes to the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side.

“On behalf of the entire support staff and the Indian team, I want to wish the women’s team all the very best. Enjoy the occasion, be fearless, don’t be scared of making a mistake, you’ve already made the entire country proud,” India head coach Gautam Gambhir said.

India’s T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav said, “Wishing the women’s team all the very best for the World Cup final. Just enjoy the occasion, be yourself. I think you’ve had an amazing campaign till now.”

All-rounder Axar Patel said, “I think be yourself and continue what you’ve been doing and wish you all the best.”

India’s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah said, “Just enjoy the occasion, you don’t get to play a lot of World Cup finals. You don’t need to do anything different; you’re playing really well, back yourself, enjoy the moment, give your best and everything else will take care of itself.”

The likes of Arshdeep, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma among others also sent good luck messages.

India booked their place in the final by pulling off the biggest run chase in the history of women’s cricket during the semi-final clash against seven-time champions Australia on Thursday (October 30).

The Women in Blue were set daunting 339-run target but thanks to Jemimah’s maiden World Cup century (127* off 134 balls), the hosts chased down the target with five wickets in hand and nine deliveries to spare.

India will be making their third appearance in a Women's ODI World Cup final. They had lost to Australia by 98 runs in the 2005 title clash and went down against England by a narrow margin of nine runs in the 2017 final.

Harmanpreet Kaur and her troops will be keen to rewrite the history in the summit clash against South Africa tomorrow.
