
Australian women’s cricketer Ashleigh Gardner and her wife, Monica Wright, received a police escort on their ride to a local café. This step was taken after two Australian women’s players were reportedly followed, and one was assaulted while heading to a cafe from their hotel in Indore.
The Madhya Pradesh police plan to use the National Security Act (NSA) against the 29-year-old accused, Aqeel Khan, also known as Nitra.
Danny Simmons, the Australian team's security officer, notified local authorities, resulting in the accused's rapid arrest after a bystander noticed his motorcycle number. Police have filed a case under sections 74 and 78 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for molestation and stalking.
Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya admitted a security breakdown and verified that a higher officer is investigating the matter. Khan, a native of Khajrana, is a persistent criminal with approximately ten previous instances.

Wright and Gardner offered big smiles to the camera, and so did the officers, with one even offering the peace sign. Wright captioned it: “Police escort to the café."
