Asia Cup 2023: WATCH- Fans get into a fist-fight in the stands after India vs. Sri Lanka match in Colombo

Fist-fight amongst fans | XThe India vs. Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2023 encounter in R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo saw some fans brawling in the stands in the aftermath of the match which Rohit Sharma and co. won by 41 runs.

The Super 4s stage encounter saw India posting 213 runs after Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first. Sharma himself starred with a half-century to his name, while Ishan Kishan (33), KL Rahul (39), and Akshar Patel (26) also made vital contributions.

For Sri Lanka, Dunith Wellalage picked five wickets and Charith Asalanka picked 4/18.

In reply, Dhananjaya de Silva (41) and Dunith Wellalage (42*) posed some resistance to Indian bowlers, but in the end, Kuldeep Yadav’s 4/43 ensured that Sri Lanka was bundled out for 172 runs and lost the game by 41 runs.

As a result, India qualified for the final of the Asia Cup as well.

Meanwhile, a viral video after the match showed a physical fight between two fans in the stand. The 33-second-long video shows two fans - one wearing a Sri Lanka jersey - coming to blows while others made desperate attempts to separate the two.

A lady is seen talking to a group of people at the start of the video and then a fan wearing a Sri Lanka jersey attacks another person. The video ends with some people breaking up the fight.
