India speedster Jasprit Bumrah is looking in terrific rhythm ever since his comeback to international cricket after a long injury lay-off during the T20I tour of Ireland last month.
The right-arm quick claimed four wickets at an average of 9.75 from two T20Is against Ireland and earned the Player-of-the-Series award.
In the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, Bumrah didn’t get a chance to bowl against Pakistan in the group fixture due to rain while he didn’t feature in the match versus Nepal owing to personal reason.
Bumrah got an opportunity to bowl in the Super-4 clash against Pakistan and instantly made a mark, returning with the figures of 1 for 18 in his five overs.
On Tuesday (September 12), the Indian pace spearhead produced a fantastic spell with the new ball against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
Bumrah dismissed Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis when the visitors desperately needed wickets in their bid to defend a modest total of 213.
During the third over of the chase, Bumrah bowled a delivery right in the channel around off-stump, forcing Nissanka to play and the Sri Lankan opener edged it to KL Rahul behind the stumps.

Bumrah’s second victim was Sri Lanka’s No. 3 batter Mendis, who was deceived by a slower delivery and gave an easy catch to substitute fielder Suryakumar Yadav at covers in the seventh over.
