Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, has looked shaky with the bat in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, as he got out for a  golden duck on Wednesday (September 7) in the crucial encounter against Afghanistan in Sharjah.

So far in the tournament, the star batter has managed 33 runs in 4 games at an abysmal average of 8.25.

Following his dismissal against Afghanistan, many fans tweeted to draw comparisons between Babar and Virat Kohli, whose batting woes have been the talk of the town for several months.

On Wednesday, after being put in to bat first, Afghanistan could manage only 129/6 owing to sensational bowling from Haris Rauf who took 2 wickets and gave away just 26 in 4 overs.

In the second innings, the Men in Green found themselves in all sorts of trouble at 45/3 in the ninth over. Shadab Khan played a composed knock of 36 runs off 26 balls to steady the ship.

However, despite defending such a small score, the Afghan bowlers persisted in bowling tight lines and lengths, taking the game to the very last over.

But it was the number 10 batter Naseem Shah’s two consecutive sixes in the last over that not only took the Babar-led team over the line but also sealed a spot in the finals of the Asia Cup.
